Volunteers are the heart of Dalkeith CAB. Volunteering offers the chance to apply valuable life and work experiences to helping people who are facing challenges and hardship in our community
Why is volunteering important?
We believe that everyone deserves access to independent, free, confidential and non-judgemental advice to help them deal with life’s problems and challenges.
You can make a real difference to your community by volunteering with the CAB, helping people access information and advice they need to move forward with their lives
Volunteers are at the heart of how we deliver services, whether it’s helping people online, by email, over the phone or in person, or supporting the work in other ways through social policy, reception tasks or social media.
What is involved?
We offer a wide range of volunteering opportunities that vary from time to time. Most involve a commitment of between 2 and 6 hours a week. All volunteers receive full training and ongoing support and are reimbursed for travel and similar expenses. All you need is time and a willingness to want to help people.
What are the benefits?
Helping people facing challenges in life and helping our charity run well can be very rewarding. But volunteering is also a great way to meet new people, feel part of a team and be involved in the local community. It's also an excellent way to develop new skills, knowledge and experience for employment and for other activities in the community.
